Analogue Wine - Sagrantino

Analogue Wine - Sagrantino

The Australian made Sagrantino we often see is big, flabby and boring. In Italy, they are quite often lighter and punchier styles. Andy has managed to pull that off here too, with some Heathcote fruit. Sustainably farmed Sagrantino from the Chalmers Merbeir vinevard. Whole bunch carbonic maceration for 8 das, fermented In fiberglass, nothing added.

Fascinated by the ancient winemaking traditions of Georgia, Andy Buchan buried two Qvevri underground and ... voila. Analog was born from the depths below of Victoria, Australia. Now, Andy makes incredibly visceral versions of some lesser known varietals, taking stock of past traditions and invigorating new ones with unique approaches to low intervention wine making.

Refreshing, fun and light, littered with plum and liquorice.
