Poggio Delle Baccanti - Lacryma (2018)
A Piedirosso/Aglianico blend partially done in steel and in used oak barrels. Vines are about 20-30 days old and come from Mt Vesuvius. Maceration is for about 2 weeks. It’s a smoky wine of a certain structure and depth but still versatile.
About the Winemaker:
Poggio Delle Baccanti is located in Sant’Antonio Abate, next to Naples in the Penisola Sorrentina, overlooking Mt Vesuvius. They have been making Neapolitan wines for 3 generations and they specialize in Gragnano, Lacryma Christi Bianco, and Lacryma Christi Rosso. The winery farms organically and wines are all made with extremely low amounts of sulphur, and no sulphur at all in the Gragnano Ancestrale.
